Polaków i innych mieszkańców Wielkiej Brytanii mogą już niedługo czekać spore utrudnienia. Okazuje się, że na całych Wyspach zamykane są oddziały banków, co znacznie utrudni korzystanie z usług bankowych. To cios dla wielu ludzi, warto więc sprawdź, czy placówki, z których korzystamy, znajdują się na liście tych, które będą likwidowane.

W ciągu dwóch ostatnich lat zamknięto już w sumie 1046 lokalnych placówek. Jednak jeszcze żadne rok nie był tak rekordowy na jaki zapowiada się 2017. Znikające oddziały zmuszą mieszkańców Wysp do polegania na bankowości internetowej, mobilnej lub na lokalnych oddziałach poczty. W ubiegłym tygodniu Yorkshire Building Society ogłosiło, że rezygnuje z jednej ze swoich marek - Norwich & Peterborough. Posiadacze tych kont będą musieli przenieść swoje usługi do innego banku. W ciągu 18 miesięcy zostanie zlikwidowanych 48 oddziałów. „Nie sądzimy, iż utrzymywanie tych 48 oddziałów jest dla nas odpowiednią pozycją handlową. Nasze propozycje obejmują skupienie się na jednej reprezentacyjnej marce i kontynuację inwestycji w podstawowe produkty kredytu hipotecznego i kasy oszczędnościowe, by uczynić usługi dla naszych klientów tak prostymi jak to tylko możliwe” poinformowało Yorkshire Building Society. W następstwie decyzji zamkniętych zostanie 40 oddziałów Clydesdale, 87 Lloyds, 8 Halifax, 117 HSBC, 75 NatWest, 28 Norwich & Peterborough, 20 Yorkshire Building Society, 9 Bank of Scotland i 39 Yorkshire Bank. Zamknięcia albo już miały miejsce, albo zostaną uskutecznione do początku roku 2018. Jane Vass, dyrektor polityki i badan w organizacji charytatywnej Age UK, twierdzi, że zamknięcia najbardziej odbiją się na osobach starszych. „Jeśli zamknięcie oddziału dzieje się w miejscu, gdzie komunikacja jest słabo rozwinięta, gdzie nie ma dobrego zasięgu by korzystać z bankowości internetowej czy mobilnej, to korzystanie z banków stanie się niezwykle trudne, szczególnie dla osób starszych” mówiła.
